Bringing the trains back to Abbeyleix.

Agility has proved itself to be an integral trait to successful running of any business in recent years. If you don’t change with the times, the times leave you behind. Abbeyleix Manor Hotel moved quickly in response to COVID restrictions, setting up an airstream in their carpark to serve pizzas and coffee to the local traffic which actually increased over this period thanks to the recently developed ‘Bog Walk’ which follows the old railway line through a rejuvenated bogland, an inspiring project which the owners of the Hotel were integral in bringing to fruition.

Rob collaborated on Phase 2 of this project which saw the development of a bigger space that could cater for people outdoors and in pods in a very un-clinical way. The railway heritage of the area heavily influenced the design and implementation of functional elements in the space. Heavy duty, bespoke furniture was designed and manufactured along with a custom double container kitchen fully fitted with top of the range wood fired pizza oven and all the appliances you would expect in a high end commercial kitchen.

As its a small town, visibility from the road was key in its development as passing traffic was needed to build on the current success with the local. So far the development has surpassed expectations, which we hope to build on with a Phase 3 in the near future.
